Dear Professor Rodwell,
I am sending this introductory letter in hopes you would get to know me better.
My name is Fatima Moflehi and I am an undergraduate student at City College aiming to enter its engineering school. I hope to major in Biomedical Engineering and go for a masters in prosthetics and orthotics. I aim to work in hospitals and help in the prosthetics department to aid those who lost their limbs or parts of their body so it can be easier for them to function without it because they will have a well made artificial one. I hope to concentrate on arms and legs because those parts of the body are heavily depended on for motor tasks such as walking, holding things, writing, swimming, crawling, pushing, pulling, and so much more.
Currently my career goals are to advance myself in terms of my educational skills and also gain opportunities that would help me experience what it’s like in the field I hope to work in. A long term goal I aim to accomplish is traveling overseas into war-torn countries working with a non-profit organization that would allow me to aid war victims that need prosthetic limbs who can’t afford it.
In this field I want to solve problems with longevity and durability of prosthetic materials because many face problems replacing them due to its expense.
I hope to learn the necessary writing skills from your class this semester that would help me reach my goals for the future.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
Sincerely,
Fatima Moflehi
